FAQ BELOW
Elide Sulsenti is a cellist and researcher passionate about experimentation and innovation. Her classical training, which includes studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Enrico Dindo’s class and the Hochschule Luzern, alongside experiences at academies such as the Ferenc Liszt Academy in Budapest, has led her to focus on contemporary music and the exploration of new sonic potentials. With an interdisciplinary approach, Elide integrates technologies, augmented instruments, and performative practices in unconventional contexts. Her performances, ranging from classical to contemporary music, have earned her accolades such as the Fritz Gerber Award (2023) and the Valentino Bucchi Award (2024). She combines artistic research with experimentation, emphasizing the interaction between space, sound, and audience, which is currently the focus of her PhD project at the Conservatorio di Ferrara. In addition to her academic work, Elide actively participates as a soloist or ensemble performer in international festivals such as the Lucerne Festival (CH), Connect Festival (SE), and EstOvest Festival (IT). She collaborates with composers from diverse backgrounds and conducts annual workshops and masterclasses at institutions such as Lund University and KUG in Graz. Currently, Elide is an artist-in-residence at the Inter Arts Center (IAC) in Malmö.
In 2021, he graduated cum laude in Clarinet Performance from the ISSM “G. Verdi” in Ravenna, under the guidance of M° Stefano Franceschini. A finalist in several national and international competitions, he won First Prize with highest distinction at the “Luigi Zanuccoli” International Competition, the “Premio Crescendo” International Competition, and the UK International Music Competition, the latter in the “Duo” category. He was also awarded the “Jury Prize” at the “Premio Crescendo A.Gi.Mus.” As an orchestral musician, he has performed under the baton of conductors such as Wayne Marshall, Timothy Redmond, Pietro Borgonovo, Hossein Pishkar, and Matthew Taylor. He is co-founder of the contemporary music collective WKO – Camerata degli Ammutinati, and has collaborated with numerous contemporary composers including Yuval Avital, Mauro Montalbetti, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, and Paolo Marzocchi. He has furthered his studies with renowned clarinetists such as Fabrizio Meloni, Calogero Palermo, Giovanni Riccucci, and Paolo Casiraghi.
